Curtain Call Theatre Group

Leighton Buzzard is in the process of launching a Brand New Theatre Group based in Linslade, Leighton Buzzard. The new group will showcase 3 Productions a year at the fully equiped 360 seat Raven Theatre at the Cedars Upper School, Mentmore Road.
The Group will be open to all budding Singers, Actors, Musicians and Dancers and will be run by Experienced Teachers, Choreographers and Production Team.
Curtain Call is open to everyone over the age of 15, although a Youth Theatre is under construction for those aged 5 - 15 (Please see next page for details)

Following a meeting with the Curtain Call Committee, we have decided, based on the lack of active members, to delay the Pantomime Aladdin until the number of registered members reach a minimum of 30. The group (as of 3rd August 2010) is currently 17. Although nearly 40 individuals registered their details, only a handfull pledged their support and said they wished to be a part of the group from August, which sadly, isn't enough.

So, we have decided to showcase a variety show with the members we have, and move the Pantomime to 2012.

The Raven Theatre seats 360 in a retractable raked seats, allowing everybody within the audiance a good view of the performance. The stage can also be extended, which will reduce the seating numbers down to 320.

Outside the theatre doors is the impressive atrium, this is where the refreshments will be served during the interval, raffle tickets, programme sales, plus the chance to view the photo gallery of the cast members and some snap shots of the rehearsals.

Joining a Drama Group can seem a bit daunting, but the great news is that everybody will be in the same boat. So, every face will be new, and what better way to make new friends and have some fun...!  Meetings will be every Tuesday's 7.30pm - 9.30pm at Cedars School's Drama Studio. The Youth Theatre will meet on Sundays from 10am.
And even if the stage is not for you, we require Musicians, Dressmakers, Stage Managers, Lighting/Sound Crew, Set Builders, Front of House etc, etc. There will always be something for everyone at Curtain Call Theatre Group.
Plus, we intend to have a varied social calender to include Theatre trips,  Guest Visits and Meals Out...!

Curtain Call will be supporting 2 Charities every year. Every penny taken from all the raffle ticket sales will go to these worth while causes. The first selected charity for 2010 - 2011 will be the Parkinson's Disease Society and the second will be selected from our Major Sponsor (Yet to be confirmed). We hope the figure to be in the £1000's and hope you will support these charties. Watch this space for further details.
