INTRODUCING CURTAIN CALL YOUTH THEATRE
OUR STORY
Curtain Call Youth Theatre was founded in 2011. It was launched following the success of the adult group and the desire to give opportunities to children aged 5-16.
The group in its infancy was run from Cedars School, Linslade. the youth theatre ran 3 sessions on Saturday mornings for different age groups. In 2012 the groups merged and another branch (Flitwick) was introduced.
Curtain Call continued to grow in 2013 which saw the introduction of the Dunstable group, at this stage Curtain Call Youth Theatre had over 100 registered children.
As with the main group, the youth theatre was founded and run by Gavyn Lugsden who over the years has employed 9 other staff to assist in the running of the groups.
The Eaton Bray group was launched in 2014, and this too became the new home of the adult group (following the closure of the Edlesbray Players).
In 2020 the youth theatres all merged into just one branch ran on Monday evenings and since March of last year the group has closed it's doors due to the pandemic.
However, later in 2021 we intend to start a new chapter with the youth section... The group will now run as a community/voluntary society (like the adult group) which will mean the prospects for many more youngsters within the village will become more accessible.
